SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Production technician is a member of the Production team that includes supply chain and production.  Primary duties include preparing electromechanical materials, subassemblies and components for final assembly. Complete daily inspection of all materials to meet customer specifications. Construct packaging for finished products along with maintaining inventory of job materials.
 
Summary of responsibilities:
  • Plan and lay out work to meet production and schedule requirements
  • Review blueprints and job specifications to determine assembly procedures
  • Obtain parts, subassemblies and mechanical components from stockroom
  • Position and fasten components, interconnect and wiring using hand tools
  • Terminate wiring as necessary
  • Complete production documents, such as quality control checklists, red-line drawings, incoming/outgoing bill of ladings
  • Provide production, progress, or changeover reports to shift supervisors
  • Clean production equipment or work areas
  • Separate scrap or waste materials for recycling, reuse, or environmentally sound disposal
  • Transfer hazardous or non-hazardous waste materials to collection areas for disposal, recycling, or reuse
  • Assist with loading and unloading of deliveries
  • Assist with shipping/receiving
  • Miscellaneous projects

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: 

  •   The ability to interact effectively within a manufacturing environment
  • One year of industrial experience related to assembly of electromechanical parts and equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and wire lists
  • Ability to use hand tools and handle medium and large components
  • Forklift experience
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Strong work ethic and detail accuracy
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
  • Willingness to work overtime/weekends/split shifts on occasion
  • Adhere to all safety procedures
 QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School education or equivalent (GED)
