We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong technical and project management background to lead our growing team.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and executing complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. You will lead cross-functional teams, oversee mechanical system development for industrial evaporators, and manage continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and process development, along with a proven track record of leading projects and optimizing workflows. This full-time, on-site position is based in Hooksett, NH.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management & Leadership:
- Lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
- Develop project scopes, timelines, and resource plans, and manage risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders, fostering collaboration across departments including manufacturing, quality control, and sales.
- Manage communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams, providing regular updates on project progress.
- Lead project review meetings to assess performance, resolve challenges, and drive improvements.
- Technical Design & Analysis:
- Oversee the design and development of mechanical systems with a focus on thermodynamic and fluid dynamic optimization.
- Perform engineering analyses, such as pipe stress and flexibility calculations, ensuring designs meet performance standards.
- Ensure engineering drawings, documentation, and 3D models are developed and reviewed for accuracy and manufacturability.
- Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure product designs are optimized for manufacturability, improving production throughput and reducing lead times.
- Process & Product Development:
- Drive process development initiatives to streamline manufacturing, assembly, and testing of new and existing evaporator products.
- Collaborate with teams to prototype new designs, conduct testing, and make data-driven decisions for refinement.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize product design and manufacturing processes.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Lead efforts in product and process improvements, with a focus on enhancing energy efficiency, durability, and thermal performance
- Drive initiatives to explore new materials, technologies, and sustainable practices to advance product innovation
- Manage root-cause analysis and corrective action plans for any issues in product performance or manufacturing
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in industrial equipment, wastewater treatment, or thermal systems.
- Proven experience in project management, leading cross-functional teams, and managing project timelines and deliverables.
- Strong background in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
- Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD Inventor preferred); knowledge of simulation tools (CFD/FEA) is a plus but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects from concept through production, with a focus on process efficiency and product optimization.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proven ability to lead process improvements and implement corrective actions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Preferred: Experience managing large-scale industrial projects or working as a process engineer.
- Preferred: Welding experience and/or experience evaluating welding procedures and techniques for manufacturing process applications.
- Preferred: Familiarity with utilities engineering and industrial water/wastewater systems.
